You see a young boy of about sixteen years old. He appears to be made out of rubber. His hair is black and one peice. He has a cartoonish feel about him. His eyes are big and brown in a puppy dog sort of way. He's dressed in salvation army surplus. He's got his chin held up high and is quite proud about being rubber. Yes, he's got that look about him that says, 'Go ahead, crack a rubber joke.' He's quite proud about being a petrolium product, and has the attitude to match. He smiles and nods when he notices your attension. He is dressed in navy blue sweat pants, brown boots, and an old brown leather jacket.

Karlie

A caucasian mid teen, by the looks of her height and build. Karlie has no really striking features. Her shoulder length blonde hair appears to be in a state of slight mess, with little attention payed to keeping it orderly. Her eyes are deep blue, and she shows a stern outlook.

Karlie is dressed in a pair of old jeans, though they are in slightly better repair than the rest of her clothing. Still retaining a trace of their once vibrant blue color, now faded to mostly grey. Above, she wears a faded, somewhat threadbare green sweatshirt, covered by some odd metallic plates. They fit over her perfectly, covering a good percentage of her body, though they do not have any apparent means of holding in place. No straps, and none are really connected to each other. On her feet are a pair of old sneakers, probably once white.

Silver Spider

Not eyes, but blank, faded, mirrored slits stare out at the world from behind a dull, silver full face mask, hiding the features of this costumed figure above a tight, all-consuming, yet all-hinting bodystocking. She is clearly female, and full figured, the gold, eight-legged splotch of a spider spreading around around the left eyeslit of the metallic spandex mask, legs curling around the back, attached to a webline, playing with facial curves and stroking light.

The torso is silver, trimmed with red at the base of the waist, forming a triangle up over her feminine shape, concealing brief shades of black in the shadows of her arms, merging with full hips to meet at a faux ruby belt buckle in the shape of a spider. The belt wraps around a black crotchpiece, descending into soft, skintight silver legs, which, long and agile, float towards low, serviceable black-booted feet. The boots flare slightly outward at the calf, quiet, and guiding vision up towards the completely masked face, which, devoid of expression, holds the highest spark of brightness in the golden streak.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Okay, let me state the purpose of this scene. Rampant, a member of ACE, was captured ICly two days ago when ACE again destroyed the First Contact memorial. He has been in the Starguard holding facility awaiting transportation to Stronghold, being a known international superterrorist. It is now just past 4 AM, and Rampant, in metahuman restraints, is about to be brought out and loaded into a security van. You few supers have noticed this early-morning activity around Starguard, and are thus on hand, watching."

Rampant has arrived.
Rampant seems like your average handsome man who takes care of himself. He stands just under six foot, weighs maybe 200 pounds, and is muscled like a runner rather than a weightlifter. His hair is black and cut short. His eyes are a piercing green. He's wearing a pair of black pleather pants, scuffed black combat boots that look older than him, a short-sleeved football (soccer to you Yanks) jersey (untucked) with a large golden symbol, a silhouette of a lion rearing up on its hind legs (rampant, of course), and a denim vest over the jersey. Thin metal bands encircle both wrists.

Silver Spider sits quietly atop a building, skulking upside down under a rooftop. o O (Figures. Starguard goes on coffee break when they transport the big terrorist badguy.) She hunkers up under the cornice. o O (Wish I could prepare a surprise, but this was as big a surprise to me as it was everyone else.) Her fingers claw at the building, keeping her quietly locked in place.

Starguard troopers in light battlearmor are escorting Rampant from the security entrance a few yards to a waiting van, doors open, engines idling. Rampant has his arms fully encased in metahuman restraints, locked to his waist with a metal band. His lower legs are likewise encased, and chained to each other such that he can barely shuffle along. Two troopers have rifle arms trained on him, while four more scout the four compass points, up, down, scanning, searching. The escort slowly begins crossing the small courtyard.

Benny was obviously waiting for this and comes walking up to the security detail, hands out in the open, and shouts from as close as they'll let him get, "Rampant! I need to know... did you surender on your own?" He looks at Rampant hopefully.

Karlie stands in somewhere unseen, an alcove. She doesn't plan to be seen by many while she goes about reading and watching this. One of those bad feelings. Might as well see to it that the nut doesn't get himself into heavier trouble..

Description: the security entrance opens on a small courtyard, maybe 50 or 60 feet on a side. The van has backed inside the wall surrounding the facility, its grill even with the gate in the wall. The gate is about 20 feet wide. The wall is brick, 10 feet high.

Silver Spider looks over to Benny and facepalms, staring at the rubbery boy as he raises his voice and shouts, struggling to stick to the building as she realizes what she is doing. o O (Aww, damn. Tell me he not do that...)
[GAME] Dex Check to remain stuck to wall.

Rampant looks over at Benny, his automatic sneer morphing into a smirk. "Rubba! Good to see ya, old sod! Come to get me out, have ya?"

Rampant looks at the guard on his right, indicating Benny with a toss of his head. "See? Told ya me mates'd be by to collect me."

Benny seems a little deflated as he moves back in out of the way, "No... I was hoping you... might have changed." He seems a little sad.

Silver Spider looks over to the the security entrance as the escort group moves Rampant towards the van. o O (Something's going to happen. I can feel it in my spider butt...) Her mask turns to watch the troopers, peering at Rampant as her eyes flicker over the troopers. o O (Something's wrong. And ain't no condom gonna get Rampant out a the mess he in...)

Karlie keeps powered down in her alcove. If it gets to blows, it's gonna be pretty annoying. At least she'll have surprise on him. She hopes. Keep quiet, keep focused. More than just a plaque at stake here..

Silver Spider's head turns northward as something attracts her attention, taking a deep breath as she tenses, pausing on the wall as she charges up a bioblast from under the awning, her muscles tense, her fingers blue and green with glowing energy. o O (Here comes something...If you take your best shot, maybe you can shoot it down, Chandi-Girl. Breathe now...Slow...regular...deep...) Her form condenses a bit, feet hooked under the cornice and fingers extended into the wall, her free hand charging up with energy.
[GAME] I brace. This should compensate for range mods when I shoot the jet thing out of the sky. It will totally open me up to another attack, but I have to risk it. OCV 9, 9d6 EB, holding. My DCV becomes a whopping 4.

[OOC] Silver Spider says, "If I see a police helicopter, Happy, I will not shoot."

From the north, a quick scream of miniature jet engines announces that it's not going to be a smooth transition after all. The two troopers flanking Rampant train their rifles on him steadily, while the other four swing their weapons around as one.

Hardshell has arrived.
Hardshell looks like a very amateurish attempt at building a battlesuit using whatever spare parts and scrap metal might have been lying around at the time. It stands nearly eight feet tall, and is easily more than four feet across the chestplate alone. The left shoulder housing is much larger than the right. The torso and limbs are covered with overlapping plates, while more dextrous areas such as the hands and joints are protected by a steelmesh material. The motorcycle-helmet headpiece is almost hidden behind a ringed collar, single glowing green eyeslit regarding the world cyclops-style. Gun-like objects are attached to both forearms. From the knees down are single cylinders, growing larger until they make an irregular-oval footprint almost a foot wide.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Okay, post-12. DEX and SPD, please."

[OOC] Benny has 20/4

[OOC] Silver Spider says, "23/5."

Rampant smiles, staring into the van. He stops shuffling forward.

Hardshell roars into view over the rooftops about a block away, obviously racing toward the courtyard scene at Danger(tm) speed.

OOC] Happenstance says, "SS, take your shot."

Hardshell seems to barely notice the attack from the shadows. Certainly his optic slit never turns as he freight-trains forward, both arms extended.

Benny is too far away to do anything so he watches and waits, keeping an eye on Rampant.

[GAME] Hold action.

Rampant turns to the trooper on his left, who has just nudged him to start moving forward again. "You wouldn't 'appen to have a light, wouldya, guv?"

[OOC] Happenstance nods. "Karlie?"

Karlie trains on the flying amazing green guy, still hiding.. she doesn't like the idea, but.. different days, different sets of rules.

[GAME] Set. Target: Hardshell.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Noted. Recoveries, then on to Segment 1."

From the roof across the street from the courtyard, a blinding laser skewers two of the troopers pointing weapons in Hardshell's general direction. The two fall where they are, weapons dropping from their hands.

Sunslash has arrived.
Sunslash is a tall and thin woman, her body slender almost to the point of androgyny. Her hair is an unnatural yellow-blonde, long and straight and stringy. Her eyes glow, obvious even in daylight. She's wearing an electric medium-blue tunic with bell sleeves that end in wide cuffs. The tunic is collared, has a V-neck, and disappears under a screaming yellow sash tied around her waist. She's wearing a blindingly-white pair of hiphuggers that barely reach her thighs and a pair of honest-to-God white leather go-go boots. Flowing from under her collar is an ankle-length cape, the same blue on the outside, and white silk on the inside.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Anyone doing anything before we move on to Segment 2?"

[OOC] Silver Spider says, "Happy? Did this woman just...kill those two guys?"
[OOC] Happenstance says, "Hmmm. Do you want me to give you that info? Or find it out ICly?"
[OOC] Benny nodnods, "Very important. does it look like they died?"

Silver Spider(Chandrika) pages: How far am I from Sunslash? Hardshell has to move to ram things, apparently. Sunslash, on the other hand, apparently likes killing people. All my disads are screaming. There are no other targets.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Unfortunately, Benny, you're asking to do more things than you're able to in one Phase. You can Stretch to Grab the gun, but that Grab ends your Action. And Set takes a full Phase by itself."

Sunslash takes to the air, drifting over the edge of the roof, her cape fluttering in the pre-dawn breeze. She pauses over the middle of the street, about 40 feet up, one hand almost languidly pointing at the remaining troopers.//1/2 move, holding action.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "SS, your turn in the barrel. :}"

Silver Spider leaps forth from her position under the cornice, tumbling forth as she vaults acrobatically upward, watching Sunslash float in the breeze, her usual flippant demeanor gone in an instant. "You ANIMAL!" She shrieks, her hooked clinging claws digging into Sunslash's cape and flipping it over her head, hand charging up with bioenergy as her teeth grit, locking her legs around Sunslash's feet, curling up to blast the woman in the gut.
[GAME] Hopefully this will be a BIG surprise. Acrobatic Flip to surprise her with the cape over her head, though the cape won't last long against the pushed EB. Clinging to Sunslash. I'll take whatever damage she dishes out. I'll need to roll to hit her hex, too.

"Oof..." She manages as she thumps into the wall, shaking her head. "I hope your insurance is paid up, because you're going to get the beating of your life for what you just did..."

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Next up is Hardshell."

Hardshell jets forward and begins pulling up half a block away. He ends hovering in the air at one corner of the courtyard, also about 40 feet up.//Full move.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Which brings us to Benny."

[OOC] Benny says, "Where is Sunslash? Hovering, on a roof, or on the ground? And how far away?"

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Sunslash is currently pinned up against the face of the building across the street, 3 stories up, by an angry Silver Spider."

[OOC] Happenstance says, "You'd squash de spider."

The two troopers at Rampant's sides never even look around as their fellows fall right behind them. When Rampant falls, they step two paces away from him, weapons trained steadily on him.

The two remaining troopers with their weapons pointed north spot Hardshell and swing their weapons on line with him. The one nearer to the two that Sunslash attacks throws a single glance over his shoulder to see Silver Spider grappling with the villainess. His offhand flashes to his belt, pressing a stud. Immediately a blaring alarm breaks the pre-dawn quiet. The other trooper immediately squeezes off a shot at Hardshell. The red beam catches the hovering ACE member square in the chest, to no visible effect.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Moving on to Phase 5."
[OOC] Happenstance says, "Benny? Karlie? Any action yet?"
[OOC] Karlie nopes. Guess my held goes bye bye :)
[OOC] Happenstance says, "Well, you can act in 4 or 5 with that held, still, Karlie."
[OOC] Benny waits til 5 is over.
[OOC] Karlie says, "Yeah, I know. Just a lack of motivation to take it. I'm already set."
[OOC] Happenstance nods.
[OOC] Happenstance says, "Phase 5 it is, then. Rampant."

Rampant raises his head up by craning his neck. He grins at Benny's snatching up of the weapon. "Knew you was true, Rubba. How 'bout giving a bloke a hand up, eh?" He chuckles.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "SS, it is your turn."

Silver Spider responds within the tangled heap by driving a punch deep into Sunslash's gut, her fist winding up as she pins the villain against the wall. "You know...most of the time...I have fun being a superhero. You just took...all...that...away...!" Her fist cocks back as she drives the punch downward towards the woman, keeping her pinned against the wall. A close look might, in the early dawn, note the faintest stain of tears scattering across her mask.
[GAME] Punch, 7d6. Don't want to risk a point blank shot, might destroy the building. OCV 8.

Sunslash sneers in Silver Spider's face, her voice laughing as the heroine's punch is met with a flash of light. "Is that the best you got, little girl? I'm going to show you what fun is all ABOUT!"

Silver Spider looks to Sunslash. "Lady..." Her masked face glares at the supervillainess, up close and personal. "...You just bought the farm..."

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Okay, Benny, Karlie. We're at the bottom of 5, about to go into 6. If you're going to use your held actions, now's the time.//Yes, Benny, she is about 9" from your position. Still pinned up against the wall 3 stories up by SS, who's effectively in your way."

[OOC] Karlie says, "Still no actions forthcoming from our favorite zappy person. On to 6 barring Benny's action."

Benny watches the ineffectual attack on Hardshell, he glances at the gun he picked up and lets it fall to the ground as he does a back flip thru the air to land on Rampant's back while wrapping his rubbery hands around him, "Only one place yer goin', Rampant, is straight to Heck, and ya know... after the week I've had, I think I'll come with you."
[GAME] Half move jump, half move grapple.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Roll to hit Rampant's hex, DCV 3."

Rampant strains to try to turn his head to look up at Benny. "Now yer talkin', mate. Let's blow this and go have a pint."

Sunslash's grin grows wider, teeth fiercely bared as her glowing eyes turn ruby-red. "Lesson One: Do NOT touch your betters, little girl! And Lesson *TWO*: see Lesson **ONE**!!" Her voice ends in a scream, spittle flying, and a deep red beam lances from her eyes straight in Silver Spider's face!//OCV 9, 10d6 EB vs. PD.

[OOC] Silver Spider says, "Dodge."

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Noted."

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Rolling to hit."

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Grr. Miss."

The red beam lances right through the space occupied by Silver Spider's head a mere millisecond ago, and smacks in the top floor of the Starguard facility, where it deflects a few chips from the brick facing.

Silver Spider leaps aside as the blast rockets towards her, vaulting aside as the searing bolt of energy hurls skyward. "My betters, huh?" She shakes her head. "Boy is your head screwed on backwards. Lesson One: Better people do not try to kill others. Lesson Two: Always make sure you can back up your threats. Lesson Three: At least I HIT you. So when we get to lesson four, which consists of me ramming your force field right through your excuse for a pretty face, which couldn't even win a beauty contest in a rat nest, I hope you start taking notes..."
[GAME] Abort to dodge.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Next up is Hardshell."

Hardshell hovers in place, giving no sign that it even knows a trooper has just hit it with an energy weapon. The outsized left shoulder housing splits open, and a miniature rocket launcher thrusts into view. It swivels and quickly draws a bead on the approximate position of the security van.//Holding in place. Aiming at van's engine block. OCV 8. 4d6 RKA vs PD. +6 vs Range penalties. About 8" away and up.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Rolling to hit hex, DCV 3."

Hardshell's missile rockets into the van, smashing through the fender and into the engine block. The resulting explosion lifts the van off it's four wheels and onto its side a few feet further away. Shrapnel and sparks from the exlosion rain on all in the courtyard.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Benny. This would be your go. :}"

Benny quietly asks one of the guards behind him, "Choose now: I take Rampant far from here to another police station, or I fight the bad guys. Which one?"

The trooper on Benny's left responds, "Sir, you need to let go of the prisoner and back away. This man is in our custody, and I don't have the time to tell you twice."

Benny sighs then glances up at Hardshell, "HEY! Tin Grin! Remember me? The Guy who punched through ten feet of concrete with his /Head/??? Ya gotta choice... Catch us, or watch yer friend become /Zen/ with the -=BEDROCK!!!=-" Benny coils up and springs up high into the air, then comes arching down right at Hardshell, using Rampant as a battering ram.

The metal shards go flying by Hardshell at dangerous speeds, failing to strike him. Karlie mutters. All that time spent being careful, and she doesn't quite get him. So close, too..

Hardshell continues twisting, his jets roaring as he bodyrolls from the vertical to the horizontal and back again.

Benny twists around at the last moment so he doesn't flatten Rampart totally, but loses his grip in the process. He shakes his head a bit, "Hummm..." And picks some branches out of his hair.

The remaining troopers in the courtyard crouch into protective stances as the security van is explosively and effectively taken out of action. Rampant's personal escort watch in stunned disbelief as Balloon Boy abducts the prisoner. The two with their weapons still aimed at Hardshell fire, one missing, and the other striking Hardshell in his side. The alarm continues to whoop.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Which brings us around to Phase 9. Sunslash."

Sunslash struggles feebly against Silver Spider's grip. She presses her lips into a thin line as her eyes again glow with a ruby fire. She fires at near point-blank range, so how can she miss?//OCV 9, 10d6 EB vs PD.

Sunslash frowns fiercely as she again fails to tag the wildly-wiggling webbed wonder. "Stay STILL, you little BRAT!"

Silver Spider shakes her head as the eyeblasts continue to hurtle off into the ether. "You know, there's a word for people like you. You've got a lot of anger inside. But being jealous of me for the big boobs I don't even want? That's silly..." She says. "And I'm not a brat. I'm a highly educated member of the superhero community. Oh...by the way...here comes my counterattack..."

Hardshell reverses course, rolling into a dive, right arm extended as he flies over Benny's position, pulling up to a hover about 30 feet up.//1/2 move, holding action.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "And we're back to Benny. Yay, Benny! You killeded those shrubs real good!"

[OOC] Benny says, "What's Rampant doing?"

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Rampant, as described, has disappeared among the 6-foot shrubs. You hear no noise, but then again, you've got Hardshell's jets screaming 30 feet over your head."

Sunslash zips up and back, ending nearly across the street and about 20 feet in the air. Her hands point at Silver Spider, and a nasty grin carves itself onto her face. "Spider spider who's squashing the spider? "Hey...shoe for brains...you're right in front of the heavily armored Starguard building. And you're flying. Which means that you are a big...fat...sitting...duck..." The blast releases upward as Silver Spider descends, her upside down body firing as she hurtles towards ground.

Silver Spider thwaps to the pavement in the middle of the street, hand catching her on the ground in a three point stance as she sweeps around in a beautiful ballet of semi-choreographed movement, staring up at Sunslash as her landing plants her on the bright yellow double line. "Take that..." She mutters.

Sunslash doesn't bother climbing to her feet. Levering herself up on her elbow, she points at the nearest trooper and a blinding-white laser lances out.//1/2 phase to orient, OCV 9, 4d6 RKA vs ED. -2 for range.

How...dare...you...kill...for...pleasure!" Her fist lances out for Sunslash, no surprises, no rules, no mercy whatsoever in her shuddering frame as she winds up for a massive blow.

Megamite has arrived.
Megamite looks like a joke. He's not quite four feet tall, and he's probably what a cartoon would be like if it popped out of the TV. His well-muscled body is wrapped in a skintight red bodysuit from neck to soles. Golden rings encircle his neck, waist, arms at mid-biceps and mid-forearms, and legs at mid-thigh and mid-calves. A snapping golden cape, about thigh-length, is fastened to his shoulders. His eyes are hidden behind mirrored sunglasses, his wavy brown hair is parted on one side and just reaches his collar, and his jaw is quite square. His head, hands, and feet are large for his body. On his chest is a golden double-M.

Megamite shouts to be heard over the burning van, Hardshell's jets, and a screaming Silver Spider. "I knew I should have gone in first, but nooooooo! Hardshell thinks I should play backup." He makes an exaggerated show of throwing his hands up in the air. "Why does that always mean I end up *cleaning* up?" He swan-dives off the roof of the Starguard facility and lands on one hand in the midst of the remaining Starguard troopers. "You boys don't mind if I let you go on your break early, do ya?" Megamite then kicks one of the troopers!//1/2 move to courtyard, OCV 8, -1 for upside-down showoff kick, casual STR only.

Silver Spider snarls to Sunslash as the blow connects, lifting her up off the ground and slamming her into the wall. "I'd ask for your surrender, but I have a feeling you'd just kill someone else..." She snarls angrily. "I'd like to let you know one thing, you b**ch. You're not getting away. Your kind always think you're so strong until someone beats you within an inch of your life. And then, just before the end comes, you pray, and pray, and pray...I suggest you start..."

Rampant looks at Benny with a leer. "Y'know, I think you fancy me, Rubba. You sure about who's side you're on?"

Silver Spider slams into the wall and slides to the ground, struggling to her feet. "How...could you?" She sobs. "Look at this...! Look around you! She KILLED THREE MEN, and YOU JUST STOOD THERE! I GREW UP WORSHIPPING YOU, YOU STUPID CARTOON JACKASS! And now, all you have left is blood...the horrible sight of blood on YOUR hands! You're just as guilty as she is! You've shamed EVERYONE who's ever had the name "Superhero!" How DARE you?"

[OOC] Happenstance says, "End of Phase 5, Sunslash's FF goes down. Moving on to Phase 6."

Megamite just looks quietly down at Silver Spider, accepting her rage as his due. His eyes are hidden behind those mirrored sunglasses, but the tightnes of his mouth might say what he's thinking.

Hardshell maneuvers over and lands a few yards away from Balloon Boy, in the same row created by the shrubberies. Its electronic voice crackles out as its jets power down into idle mode. "You really should let go of him now. This can end right here. No one else has to get hurt."//1/2 move and land, held action.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Benny, your play. :}"

[OOC] Benny says, "One, how far am I from the Starguard HQ? Two, is there anyone I can turn Rampant over to in the doorway, concidering how long the alarm has been going off?"
[OOC] Happenstance says, "The alarm has been going off for about 12 seconds or so. You are about 25 feet away from the 10-foot wall that surrounds the facility, and a total of about 12 or 13" inches from the nearest Starguard troopers that you know of, although you cannot see them from your position. A shiny metal capsule foomps at Balloon Boy, striking him in his shoulder and exploding into a rain of metallic confetti that constricts the young hero into an instant cocoon.

Hardshell's headpiece only has a single eyeslit that glows, but somehow it gives the impression that it's boggling.

Silver Spider glares at Megamite angrily as she flips to her feet. "Get out of here. And don't take her with you. Make up some story, I don't care. But I'll give you another chance to be better than this...thing you've become. Just...one..." She pants heavily, exhausted from her battle with Sunslash.
[GAME] Breakfall up, Hold action. This guy is WAY too powerful to take one on one.

[OOC] Silver Spider says, "No. I get to hold only a half action."

Megamite looks at Silver Spider, just..floating there, looking at her. Then he folds his arms and looks down at Sunslash. "I'm afraid I can't do that, miss. You have no reason to believe me, but I *will* see that Sunslash is punished for what she's done here today." He pauses, unfolds his arms, open hands at his sides, ready. "But I can't leave her here, anymore than I'm going to leave Rampant. There's a lot more at stake than you're ready to believe."

Silver Spider looks over to Megamite, charging up her energy blast. "Then you leave me no choice." Her voice is icy cold. "She murdered three people and she'll be tried here. You and I both know damn well that you won't call my bluff if I threaten to blast her now. You can't risk moving a badly injured person, and if you so much as twitch towards her, I'll fire..."

Silver Spider(Chandrika) pages: I will not fire. The question is, how true blue is this guy.

Benny(Balloon Boy) pages: How far from Sunslash am I?

You paged Benny with 'Remember when I told you about the troopers? Sunslash, SS, and MM are another 4 or 5" beyond them, and out of your sight behind the wall.'.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Bottom of Phase 8. The 3 troopers."

One of the trooper drops to his knees, weapon forgotten as he begins administering first aid to one of his fallen buddies. The other two train their rifles on Megamite's back, but hold their fire, waiting for Silver Spider to play her hand.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "And on to Phase 9. All the way down to Hardshell."

[OOC] Benny wants to take his 1/2 phase...

[OOC] Benny says, "before that."

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Go ahead, Benny. :}"

Benny leaps over the wall to get as close to Sunslash as possible, "I've been listening to you guys and I think your right..."
[GAME] 1/2 movement superleap

Silver Spider turns her masked face to the Troopers. "All right, you two..." She says gently. "I need one of you to come over here and put a rifle to Sunslash's head. Now that I know her name, there's no way Megamouth here can rescue her from all three of us." She doesn't even pay attention to Benny for the moment. "Let's just move her inside nice and slowly. As slowly as possible. Why? Because Megamite's on a time limit and we're not." She waggles a free finger at Megamite. "And we know you are, mission relief boy."

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Okay, Benny. You're in the courtyard, about 8" away from the two SSs and MM."

Silver Spider thinks . o O (Damn. Feel like a supervillain. This whole thing just ain't right.)

Megamite regards Silver Spider, barely glancing at the two troopers who are crabbing their way around him on either side, weapons lined up on his head. He bobs up and down in the air, thinking. One can feel him thinking.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Hmmm. Since Benny didn't say he was letting go of Rampant, and nothing he's done lets me cheat Rampant out of his grip, Benny boy, I'm assuming you still have Rampant. Sound right?"
[OOC] Benny says, "Oh yeah..."

Silver Spider looks up at Megamite, her hand still trained on Sunslash. "In your heart, you know what you're doing isn't right. Look at what you're forcing me to do. You're forcing me to take a mass murderer hostage so that you, one of the greatest superheroes mankind has ever seen, can't prevent her from being brought to justice. Doesn't it even for a moment strike you how utterly wrong this situation is?"

[OOC] Happenstance nods. "Hardshell pose coming up."

Hardshell's jets scream back to life as it lifts into the air in pursuit of Benny and Rampant. It pauses over the perimeter wall, about 20 feet above it, as it sees the situation developing in the courtyard.//1/2 move, hold action.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Alright, Benny. Back to you again."

Benny shakes his head, "Right is right and wrong is wrong. He's not forcing you to do anything. But I am. I won't let ya kill her. Mega is right, time she and Rampant were going." He snakes out an arm to gently pick up Sunslash.
[GAME] Streach and martial grab.

[OOC] Silver Spider says, "Ego Roll. If he's doing that, I have to fire. I can't risk Sunslash getting away."
[OOC] Silver Spider says, "All you had to do was nothing. And we would have won."
[OOC] Happenstance says, "Hold on. Benny, please pay more attention to distances. At best, you can stretch 6". You're 8" away."
[OOC] Silver Spider says, "Thank god..."
[OOC] Benny will not push end to cover the distance.
[OOC] Benny holds then.

Megamite begins talking, almost as if to himself. "Sunslash jeopardized the mission. She made mistakes. She was seriously injured. It could possibly have been fatal to move her. We can always get her out later. Once she's had time to cool off, heal and remember that civilians are not acceptable targets."

Megamite folds his arms.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Karlie? Hardshell is now about 6" from you, 5" up in the air, with his back to you."

Silver Spider looks over to Megamite coldly. "Good boy. Now go. And I'll be watching Sunslash like a hawk. If any of you bozos even get near her, I'll be there. If any of you make an escape attempt for her, I'll be there. I'll plead for her life if they send her to the chair, but really, that's about it..."

Benny just stares.

Megamite floats up to Silver Spider's face. "You and I are going to have a serious talk soon."

[OOC] Karlie is also a bit up in the air. :) No matter tho..

Karlie moves up behind Hardshell, almost to satisfy a curiosity she feels about Hardshell's suit. She concentrates on his battle suit, seeing about locking it up in place. Just to see how that would make it work or fail, whatever the case may be.
[GAME] 1/2 move, 6d (pushed) Entangle, OCV 9, no penalty, from behind.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "+1 for OCV. Roll to hit."

Karlie rolls 3D6: [16]

Silver Spider looks to Megamite coldly. "You may be strong. And you may be fast. And you may be one of the most powerful heroes on Earth." She unrolls her glove and lets it drop to the ground, black fingers drifting back and forth as her palm charges up with green energy. "But nothing you can say or do makes you any better than a man with a white sheet on his head right now..."

[OOC] Karlie says, "...please tell me that from behind is a 1/2 dcv thing.. -.-"
[OOC] Happenstance sighs. "Karlie, really, about those dice..."
[OOC] Happenstance says, "Miss, of course."

Megamite looks over at Benny. "I don't suppose you're going to just let go of him, are you?"

Benny says, "I... suppose that depends on if the person with the hostage is going to kill anyone depending on what I do."

Rampant looks at Benny. "Don't do it, guv. I could use the rest in stir. And Hardass and Megamidget will 'ave to do a lot of 'splainin' when they get 'ome."

Silver Spider looks over to Benny. "Oh, make no mistake. If my bluff is called, I will injure her badly enough that she won't be able to be moved."

Megamite looks up and over at Hardshell, giving him a nod. Then he looks around the courtyard. "You men had better see to those troopers."

Karlie sighs. "Spider? You do something like that and you'll end up put away for a pretty long time. Don't think I'm the best to be offering that kinda advice, but even I got lines I draw.."

Hardshell's jets scream into full life as he begins rising, quickly picking up speed.

[OOC] Karlie thus reveals who's been taking potshots at Shelly boy..

Benny looks at Rampant, then looks at megamite, "Another time."

Silver Spider looks over to Karlie. "Then put me away, Karlie." She says calmly. "Because I know Megamite's reputation. He'll never betray a friend, or allow one to come to harm..." She says quietly. "I don't have to fire....Do I, Megamite?"

Megamite looks at Karlie, at Benny, at the troopers, then at Silver Spider. "We'll have that talk. What you've done today is the best thing that could have come out of this fiasco, for reasons you couldn't possibly know about."

Benny just starts walking Rampart to the Starguard HQ.

Megamite says nothing further, but just begins rising straight up into the air, arms still folded. Shortly he begins arcing to join Hardshell.

[OOC] Happenstance says, "And we're out of combat time, unless someone feels like chasing those two."

Karlie snorts. "oh, yeah. Like I'd bring anyone to justice." she heads off, in a homeward direction.

Silver Spider looks over to Megamite calmly. "Go. Apparently, we're going to be talking later..."

Silver Spider looks over to Karlie and Benny. "I feel like such a dirtbag." She says quietly. "I knew Megamite wouldn't call my bluff. I had to trust that he was still one of the good guys, sort of. I never would have fired in the first place. I just had to pretend I would."

Silver Spider sighs and picks up Sunslash by the throat. "I hope they bury you in the deepest, darkest suspended animation capsule known to man, and bury you so far underground that the Mole Men have to look down to find you."

[OOC] Happenstance says, "Okay, Rampant back in his holding cell for now. Sunslash going into the StarGuard infirmary, then shortly into a cell of her own."
