Champions MUSH: Latest News

10/24/2001 New Patches

I've upgraded to the most recent patches of PennMUSH (adding patch 9 and 10) for our version. There are too many fixes/changes and most are too minor for me to detail here. Type

help 1.7.4p9 and
help 1.7.4p10

for details.

09/17/2001 News Files Updated
NEWS CONSENT 2

has had a 6th item added and

NEWS CONSENT VILLAINS

(and subsequent) is the item. If you read this when it was a +bbrant a month or two ago, then you probably don't need to re-read it. I just cut and pasted.

08/14/2001 Player amusement Device updated
Yes kids, the Player Amusement Device swells again with more grandiose (and overly colorful) functionality -- er, yes, I KNOW the colors are hideous -- I'm working on it!

This time, the P.A.D. has been set up to show POLLs posted by the admins. You can answer a poll with any one of the shown choices -- see POLL HELP for more information.

If this thing gets as popular as I think it will, it'll have to be moved off the PAD and made a global. Wouldn't *that* be nice...?

08/13/2001 Webster code imported
You will notice from now on, a little BOT connected to the MUSH called 'Webster'. Web is a dictionary item. We now have the following commands to be used for your convenience.

+spell (words) will spell-check words.

+spell (obj)/(attrib) will spell check an attrib on an object (for example

+spell me/describe)

+define (word) will give you the deifnition of (word) (try +define speed, for

example).

Code for the bot written by Shawn Wagner, one of the PennMUSH developers. +help files will be forthcoming in a few days.

NEWS CONSENT

NEWS SPOOFING

NEWS POLICING

NEWS MOBBING

07/26/2001 New switch for +LIST
The +list command now takes the /alts switch, which lets you see who is an alt for whom. It's a reflexive list (that is, both alts are shown in both the 'front' and 'back' position. But in any case, if you want to see who all has a registered alt, at a glance, this is what to use.
07/10/2001 Upgrade to patch 07 complete
Thanks to Javelin (aka. Alan, the team leader for PennMUSH), everything's fixed. Note to Penn gods: if you have not made hardcode mods, rm src/local.c right before doing make or the build is hosed... Anyway, CM is back up and now running the latest version, 1.7.4p7. A few files might've gotten lost in the shuffle -- though we do have backups of them all. Let us know if anything seems broken.
07/03/2001 News and Events updated
Added the following today:
  • A new events file to clarify how different realities work when they come together, called events realities. Not really important reading unless you are planning or otherwise involved in some way in an crossover.
  • Amended news recovering 3, so that BODY is repaired in REC/week in a hospital, since medical technology is more advanced in 2051 than in 2001.

06/13/2001 New Command: +speak
We've added a new command, +speak, which allows you to easily pose speaking in another language. Note that it is not "game aware" -- you can pose any language you want, and everyone in the room will hear and understand it OOCly (Out-of Character). It is your job to ensure that the speaking and understanding that occur are in-character (IC).
06/09/2001 New Powerup policies
Our "powerup" policies (rules on how you go about spending Experience to make your character more powerful or skilled, have been streamlined and improved. Details are listed in news hr powerups.
